Our Story.
Fleur hart flowers and foliage began in 2022 in honour of Monte Hart, a dear young friend who lost his life in 2021. In the aftermath I had a desperate need to connect with nature, beauty, light and love and found digging in dirt and growing flowers provided a sense of calm, grounding, joy and purpose during a very sad time. The beauty and wonder that every bloom provides, along with the harmony of working in nature made me want to share this with others.
Our little farm is in the beautiful Mandurang Valley, right next to the Greater Bendigo national park. Nature is abundant, precious and close and we actively seek practices that are sustainable, building healthy soils and working with the natural environment rather than trying to ‘tame’ it or repress it. This means we don’t use harmful chemicals, sprays or fertilizers, minimize and recycle any plastics on the farm and care for our flowers by encouraging beneficial bugs, pollinators and birds to help maintain a wonderous ecosystem. We actively use sustainable floristry methods and most importantly our flowers are safe to sniff.
At Fleur hart we believe every bloom has its own unique and enchanting beauty. We are passionate about creating beautiful flowers that convey messages of love, joy or solace for the myriad of life events where flowers often say more than words.
The miracle of flowers.
Nature is wonderous, healing, connecting and endlessly fascinating. On our little farm we tend to grow most of our flowers from seed. The incredible beauty that unfolds from the moment of planting to the emergence of a bloom is truly a miracle and holds us captive. Working along side nature, watching the flowers bloom and the wildlife they support and bring onto the farm is joyous.
There is a reason why flowers have been used throughout history for healing, symbolism and to express that which words often can’t.
“If we could see the miracle of a single flower clearly, our whole life would change”
